• Corrective Exercise and Injury Prevention

I find that too many people walk around in chronic pain, accepting that it’s just part of life. I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way. Corrective exercise can range anywhere from correcting your posture to eliminating that irritating back or groin pain that just won’t go away.

Ever had someone tell you that you can’t correct your flat feet or that you can’t improve your balance? Yes. You. Can. In fact, incorporating corrective exercise with regular strength training can be life changing. A body that moves well, prevents injury.

Every body is different and should be treated that way. Sometimes, you just need a fresh set of eyes.

  • Bodybuilding and Weightlifting

Body re-composition, also commonly referred to as “getting toned”, comes from a combination of proper nutrition and progressive overload in the gym. With the proper guidance, dedication and consistency, the process isn’t as complicated as the internet would like you to believe.

Weightlifting, with a capital W, comprises of two main lifts; the Snatch (one movement) and the Clean and Jerk (two movements). The goal for both is to move the barbell as efficiently as possible. Using safe and effective techniques, mastering the basics is key. As a certified USA Weightlifting coach, I can prepare you to learn these lifts if that is your goal.

  • Breathing and Pressure Management

My approach to breathing is from a structural point of view, one that strengthens your core and corrects posture. Will proper breathing help you relax? Of course; it’s merely a benefit. What isn’t widely discussed, is that it can rid you of pain and prevent serious injury.

The way you breathe will directly impact the function and strength of your core and pelvic floor. The average person breaths 20,000-25,000 times a day; correcting your breathing pattern alone can strengthen your core more than 1,000 crunches ever could.

Being able to properly manage abdominal pressure not only applies to heavy lifts, but day-to-day life. Protect yourself from hernias, diastasis and more when you take your breathing seriously.

  • Pregnancy and Postpartum

Whether you're currently pregnant, newly postpartum or seeking help decades later, it's never too late to improve your quality of life. My goal is to bridge the gap between physical therapy and personal training, preparing women to take on the world around them with confidence.

I'm the trainer you seek after being cleared by the doctor, graduating from physical therapy or just not sure who to talk to. The goal is to prevent injury (worsening diastasis, hernias or prolapse), get your strength back and rid you of pain.

Just because you've had a baby, does not mean you have to leak every time you laugh for the rest of your life. Cough, sneeze and jump with confidence, no matter how much time has passed. Take the next step to stay in control of your core and pelvic floor.
